Camping adventures

Well little lady you are now.....um....3 and a bit months and you have had your second camping adventure. This Anzac weekend we headed to Little Waipa doc camp ground along the Waikato river.
It was a quick decision to go as it had been raining cats and dogs all Easter weekend and the following week. I was all set to say that this camping trip wasn't going to happen but you father was too excited about the prospect of setting up his new camping kitchen and new tent that not matter how hard the rain fell or how fast the wind blew we were going.
You slept in your portacot and we kept you warm with oodles of fuzzy blankets and wraps. You were a little caterpillar tucked up in you cacoon of warmth.
I kept you fashion forward in a vast arrangement of outfits and matching beanies. You have been very excited to have you dad home everyday at the moment because it is school holidays. You jabber away to him and giggle at his silly faces.

Your mum and dad have gone camping every Easter since we first met. Normally we go to arapuni doc  ground but you Da and great grandma suggested we try here. It's on the halfway mark of the river bike trail and we have stopped here before to grab a cache or two. It's a beautiful and busy spot that we will definitely return too one day.

First night here your dad texted Da and grandma to tell them we had gone to the place they suggested and they said they were planning on going camping too and would come stay with us - "they will either turn up after lunch taking in the sights or leave at first light to get here ASAP to see Em, 10am at the latest!" Well your father was right!! 10.10am your great grandparents rolled in with their "accommodation" in tow.
We could not get a hold In after that- it was fantastic! Hehehe  you were the apple of their eye and that scored us an invite to a buffet style breakfast in their camper.  Home made bread, eggs, bacon, pancakes, whatever we desired!!
Your Da still has a sore stiff arm from his surgery but you could hardly tell the way he was carrying, lifting and playing with you all day. You even got to go up into the bed area and play peek a boo around the swivling TV- your father got a bit jealous as he hasn't ever gone up there or played peek a boo with his granddad around the TV... You have stolen his spot as favourite!!!! Enjoy the spotlight while you can miss muffet!

3 days of rain, wind, long drop toilets and no showers but we had a great time!
Home for a hot shower and sleep- well as much sleep as you will allow us which is only a little still at moment.
